The first Jatiya Party (JP) council after its founder HM Ershad’s death has been scheduled for Dec 28.
The decision came on Sunday (Dec 1) at meeting of its policymaking Presidium at the party chief's offices in Dhaka.
“Party chief GM Quader has fixed the date for the council,” JP Secretary General Mashiur Rahaman Ranga told Bangla Tribune.
In the meeting, some presidium members opposed the date arguing that it would be overshadowed by Awami League’s upcoming council and national days in December, sources said.
