BNP Senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has termed the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) probe on the Barapukuria coal scam as an eyewash.
Terming ACC as the stooge of the government, the BNP leader said the corruption watchdog is ramming on the political opponents only.
Rizvi made the remark at a press conference at the party’s headquarters in capital’s Nayapaltan on Friday.
Criticizing the incumbent regime, he said that corruption is rampant in every sector including the stock market, banking, and question paper leakage.
The mine authorities were blindsided about the looting of coals over the years because the government itself was the main culprit, he said.
“The government or the head of the government can’t avoid the responsibility of such a large scale corruption.”
