The government has resorted to deception over BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s medical condition, says senior party leader Moudud Ahmad.
“Khaleda Zia is severely ill. It has been two days and she is yet to be taken to the doctors. The government will be liable if anything happens,” he told the media in Noakhali on Monday.
Blaming the Awami League of destroying democracy, he said, “Because they know that the people will reject them.”
A BNP National Standing Committee member, Moudud claimed that he was barred by the local police from holding rallies and public relation efforts in the Noakhali-5 constituency, from where was elected an MP for five times.
“The local police OCs call up my aides on phone and inform on the prohibition. Police cordon-off my home as well as harass my neighbours,” he alleged.
