BNP leaders Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury have gone to Bangkok.
The senior party leaders left Dhaka on Sunday morning, but it’s yet to be clear whether they took the same flight from Dhaka.
Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul told Bangla Tribune on Saturday that he would be travelling to the Thai capital for medical purposes.
His personal aide Md Yunus said Sunday evening that he left Dhaka with his wife on an 11am flight.
A member of BNP’s policymaking National Standing Committee, Amir Khosru told Bangla Tribune late on Saturday that he will be leaving for Bangkok the next and will return a week after “around Jun 10.”
On Saturday, Mirza Fakhrul dismissed media reports on travelling to London on summons from BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman. “It’s all rumours,” he told Bangla Tribune.
