Mirza Fakhrul dismisses reports on going to London as ‘rumours’

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam AlamgirBNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has dismissed media reports on being summoned by acting party chief Tarique Rahman.
“Nothing like that happened. It’s all rumours,” he told Bangla Tribune.
Several Dhaka-based news outlets reported that Mirza Fakhrul will be travelling to the British capital next week upon Tarqiue’s instruction.
Asked whether he had any plans to go to London before Eid, the BNP leader said, “There’s no reason to go there now. I might travel to Bangkok for treatment, but London is out of question.”
Citing several leaders of BNP’s UK chapter, Bangla Tribune’s London Correspondent Munzer Ahmed Chowdhury reports that Mirza Fakhrul has been told to come to London as soon as possible.
The BNP leaders, who preferred anonymity, said the BNP secretary general can be expected at the British capital as soon as next week.
BNP’s UK unit President MA Malek, however, told the media in London that he has not aware of any such thing.
