Jatiya Party Chief HM Ershad has reinstated his younger brother GM Quader as the deputy leader of the opposition party in the parliament removing his wife Raushan Ershad.

The decision came 12 days after Quader was removed from the post.

“As per section 20(1) Ka of the party’s charter, Ershad appointed Quader effective from today,” a press release, signed by Ershad read.

Earlier, on Mar 23, Ershad nominated Raushan Ershad as the deputy leader of the opposition, removing GM Quader from the post.

Ershad, also the leader of the opposition, said in a statement issued on the same day, that Quader was removed from the parliamentary post because of his failure to lead the party.
