Claiming Awami League (AL) becomes isolated from people, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the ruling party has turned ‘politically bankrupt’.
“So, they (AL) has taken undemocratic ways to hang onto power, destroyed all democratic institutions including judiciary and captured the media and turned the law enforcement agency into puppet,” he said on Wednesday (Apr 3).
Speaking at a party progamme in Dhaka, Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘The government is afraid of releasing Khaleda Zia from prison
“… Keeping Khaleda behind bars is a part of deep conspiracy,” he alleged.
Claiming the country’s media is controlled, the BNP leader blamed the government for misleading the people through media.
Mirza Fakhrul urged the party leaders and activists to ‘be united’ and ‘ready’ to involve in the party movement when the calls come.
“We will have to go the people and together we have to overthrow this government from power,” he said.
