Gano Forum MP-elect Mokabbir Khan has been sworn in to the parliament as Sylhet-2 lawmaker.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath-taking ceremony at her parliament office around 12:15pm Tuesday (Apr 2).

On Monday (Apr 1), Mokabbir wrote to the Speaker informing her that he wants to be sworn in as a member of parliament.

Earlier Mokabbir said that his decision to write to the speaker came as per the decision of Gano Forum and its chief Dr Kamal Hossain.
“Decision of Dr Kamal is the decision of Gano Forum,” He said.
However, Gano Forum’s executive president, advocate Subrata Chowdhury, said, “The party decision to refrain from taking oath remains; Mokabbir Khan has taken the decision to take oath by himself.”
