Gano Forum MP-elect Mokabbir Khan has written to the Speaker to take his oath to office as the lawmaker for Sylhet-2 constituency.
On Monday (Apr 1), a letter has been dispatched to the Speaker’s office on behalf of the Kamal Hossain-led party, Mokabbir told Bangla Tribune.
“I am likely to take oath on Apr 2 or 3, provided that the Speaker grants me an appointment,” he said.
Responding to query, Mokabbir said he is taking oath as an MP following the green light of his party’s leadership.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Choudhury, however, said her office is yet to receive any letter.
“My office is yet to receive any letter regarding [Mokabbir Khan’s] oath-taking as of yesterday [Sunday, Mar 31],” she told Bangla Tribune.
