Describing BNP is spiraling into a politics of mistake, ruling Awami League Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim has said the party may start hatching conspiracy.
“BNP leaders and activists are frustrated. As they have failed to wage movement and suffered defeat in the election, now they go against the government all the time. They do politics with everything,” he told a press conference at the AL central office in the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue on Monday (Apr 1).
Nasim, who is spokesperson of the AL-led 14-party Alliance, said, “It has become a fashion for BNP leaders to hold the government responsible for everything.”
Dismissing the claim on the arrest of BNP leader Tasvir Ul Alam, who owns several floors at fire-hit Banani building, politically motivated, Nasim said, “He [Tasvir] has been detained for his crime.”
On BNP’s decision to skip the parliament, Nasim said, “They will lose the last opportunity to join the House if they don’t take oath by Apr 30. Leave the trifle matter, come to parliament and speak here. If necessary, place your demand to release of your party [in parliament].”
Speaking of the treatment of jailed BNP chief Khaleda Za, the former health minister said, “The government is sincere on her medical care. Maximum facility to her will be ensured as per jail code.
The 14-party Alliance leader urged the activists to stay alert.
“BNP may start off the politics of conspiracy,” he said
