The democratic process will be destroyed if the country fails to ensure a free, fair and all-inclusive national election, says BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
His remarks came on Sunday while addressing the iftar party the BNP hosted for Dhaka-based diplomats.
The senior BNP leader greeted the diplomats on behalf of jailed party Chairperson Khaleda Zia and exiled acting chief Tarique Rahman.
“We are sharing the current political scenario with our foreign friends, but we know that the struggle is ours and we need to go forward by facing it.”
Diplomats from several countries, including envoys of India, China, Canada, Australia and Netherlands attended the party at a city hotel.
