BNP`s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. File PhotoA massacre is being carried out across the country in the name of shootouts, says senior BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
“During the last three days seven people have died in extra-judicial killingsin four districts. In the month of holy Ramadan, people are being killed like insects,” he told a media briefing at the party’s Naya Paltan office on Sunday.
The BNP senior joint secretary general said “United Nation’s human rights body has demanded to stop the practice immediately. They have called for a fair investigation into the issue.”
“The law enforcers are carrying out these extra-judicial killings only to ensure that nobody can open his mouth against the blue print of the government to hold a one-sided election. We demand to stop extra-judicial killings in the name of shootout.”
Criticising Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Qader’s statement asking how Khaleda Zia is related to election, Rizvi said, “There is a direct relation as Khaleda Zia is the leader of the country’s one of the two biggest parties. His statement unearths government’s intention of holding one-sided election.”
