Senior BNP leader Khondokar Mosharraf Hossain in a meeting on Saturday (May 19).A lack of ‘chain of command’ in the administration has caused commodity prices to shoot up, says senior BNP leader Khondokar Mosharraf Hossain.
“The commerce minister had announced that prices of essential will be contained during the Ramadan. But its now evident they have failed,” the BNP National Standing Committee Member told a discussion on Saturday.
According to him, the government lacks a command structure as “it has assumed office without a voting”.
A former BNP minister, Khandaker Mosharraf blamed the government for resorting to corruption and favouring businesses to cling on power.
Claiming that the financial institutions have gone bankrupt, he said, “Billions have been siphoned off from banks. The FBI investigation found that the Bangladesh Bank cyber heist was an inside job.
“The capital market has been destroyed. The finance minister himself said in parliament that they will not be able to try the people behind the stock manipulation.”
