The ruling Awami League's policy-making leaders believe that it will not be possible to send Rohingya back to Bangladesh from Myanmar soon. According to them, if Bangladesh maintains its activities in this regard, it may take 5 years to 50 years for Rohingya repatriation. And for this, Government should try to aware the international community through the diplomatic activities. At least half a dozen central leaders of the AL expressed such an attitude when talking to the Bangla Tribune.
AL presidium member Qazi Jafarullah said to the Bangla Tribune, 'I do not think the Rohingya problem will be solved overnight. It may take 5 years for Rohingya repatriation to Myanmar, and it may take 50 years. I have never seen anywhere in the world, the refugees have returned to their own country." He said," The Rohingyas will not stay in a certain place. Because of their appearance and linguistic similarity with the Bangladeshis, they will spread across the country. They will join in different types of work. But diplomatic pressure should be maintained. We have to negotiate with Myanmar to resolve this problem.
Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said, "Rohingya issue is an international problem. We think this problem should be solved internationally. "Responding to a question he said, "These problems are not resolved quickly, it takes time. A minister of Myanmar is visiting Bangladesh. We will observe the Myanmar’s stand on Rohingya repatriation and take the next step. "
