The BNP has won five parliamentary seats in the 11th National Elections while its Grand Alliance opponent secured 288.
The party failed to secure victory in seven divisions with their five-seat win limited to the Rajshahi division.
Bogura-4 and 6:
BNP’s Mosharraf Hossain won the Bogura-4 constituency with 1,26,722 votes while Grand Alliance’s Jatiya Shamajtantrik Dal candidate Rezaul Karim Tansen secured 84,679 votes.
The party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir won the Bogura-6 constituency where he was running instead of their incarcerated chief Khaleda Zia. Fakhrul won 2,05,987 votes, while his Grand Alliance opponent Nurul Islam Omor got 38,961.
Chapainawabganj -2 and 3:
BNP candidate Md Aminul Islam won 1,75,466 votes while the Awami League candidate lost with 1,39,952 votes in Chapainawabganj-2.
Meanwhile, the BNP candidate in Chapainawabganj-3 won with 1,33,661 votes and his Awami League opponent Md Abdul Wadud lost with 85,938 votes.
Thakurgaon-3:
BNP’s Jahidur Rahman Jahid won the Thakurgaon-3 constituency with 88,619 vote while his opponent, Awami League’s rebel candidate Imdadul Hoque secured 84,427 votes.
