Jatiya Oikya Front plus all the opposition parties will declare new protest programmes with BNP, leftist alliances and religion based parties already starting initial talks. After the election on Dec 30, opposition parties claimed that the polls were not free and fair.

Complaining of massive rigging, they have asked for the election result to be annulled. During talks held at the home of Dr Kamal, the result was rejected and on Monday at 12pm, the Oikya Front has called a press conference to express its opinion.

BNP senior leaders feel that that participation in this election has vindicated their earlier decision to not take part in polls in 2014.

BNP vice chairman, Shamsuzzaman Dudu, told Bangla Tribune, “This is the best example that neutral election cannot be held under a party in power.”

A BNP source says that on Monday at 4 pm, the party standing committee and, in the evening at 6pm, the alliance meetings will be held.

Video footage of the elections will also be presented before foreign diplomats.

On Sunday, Dr Kamal Hossain, said, “A new election has to be held which will be under a neutral caretaker government.”

There was widespread rigging in this election; votes were stolen, commented Dr Kamal Hossain on Sunday.

Leaders of the opposition have said that a movement will follow demanding the resignation of the Election Commissioners and holding the polls under a new commission.

Islami Andolan presidium member, Mosaddek Billah Al Madani, told Bangla Tribune, “This is not an election; to whom shall we present out complaints because all entities seem to be loyal to the ruling party?”
