Oikya Front leader son Reza Kibria has been cleared to contest the polls in the Habiganj-1 constituency.
Reza’s nomination was scrapped by the returning officers on grounds of a pending credit card bill on Dec 2 after which he filed an appeal with the Election Commission.
The EC granted his appeal on Friday (Dec 7), Reza’s counsel confirmed.
Reza Kibria is the son of former Awami League regime finance minister, AMS Kibria who was elected as an AL MP in the Habiganj-3 constituency.
Reza joined the opposition alliance Oikya Front this year and collected nomination to run for the Habiganj-1 seat.
