In Tangail-6 (Nogorpur-Delduar), AL’s secretary for commerce and trade and former president of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, Ahsanul Islam Titu, got the nomination superseding state minister for information, Tarana Halim and current MP, Abdul Baten.
The final nomination paper was given to Titu on 25 November, Sunday, by AL office secretary, Abdus Sobhan Golap.
In Tangail-6, AL workers and activists were divided in three groups: district AL general secretary, M Shibli Sadek and his cohorts were for Tarana Halim while AL president of the district was for Ahsanul Huq Titu while some supported the current MP, Abdul Baten.
After the nomination was declared, general secretary M Shibli Sadek, said: “we will all work for the person who got the nomination.”
A wave of celebration swept through the area when the nomination was declared and Ahsanul Islam Titu, said: “let’s all forget our divisions and work together to ensure victory for boat.”
