BNP starts giving nominations without announcement

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)BNP has started distributing confirmation letters to candidates contesting the upcoming polls without any formal announcement.

Sources have revealed that that six ticket seekers including the party’s National Standing Committee member, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Vice Chairman Major Hafizuddin have been given nomination on Sunday (Nov 24) night.

Barrister Moudud Ahmed secured a nomination in the Noakhali-5 and has already gone to his constituency on Monday (Nov 26), confirmed his colleague Mominur Rahman Sujon.

Hafizuddin Ahmed has secured a ticket to contest the polls in the Bhola-3 constituency.

“He received the nomination paper. He is currently in court but he will go to his election area tomorrow if not today,” Hafizuddin’s wife Dilara Afroze told Bangla Tribune.

However, the party’s Senior Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, “There has been no official decision from the party regarding the nomination.”
