BNP is confident of winning the upcoming 11th parliamentary national polls as the party sees a wave of support gaining momentum in favour of ‘paddy sheaf’, its electoral symbol.
“No one will be able to prevent us from winning. The wave of support that we are witnessing will help us win the polls,” said Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday while speaking to the media on the sidelines of polls aspirants’ interview at the BNP chief’s Gulshan office.
“All the aspirants’ we have interviewed are proven leaders who have sacrificed for the party, he said before adding, “With this momentum we will be able to unseat the autocratic regime through the election.
When asked about the Election Commission’s remark that BNP was making sweeping allegations, Alamgir said, “The BNP has been very specific in this issue.”
Alamgir said, “The Commission must act impartially, which is its constitutional responsibility and if they fail to do so they will have to answer to the nation.”
On Wednesday (Nov 21), BNP has interviewed 233 polls aspirants of Mymensingh Division.
The interview process is scheduled to finish on the same day after aspirants from Faridpur and Dhaka divisions face the nomination board.
When asked about when the list of final nominations will be published, Alamgir said, “We will sit with our coalition and then decide on the final nominations.”
