Tahmina Zaman Sraboni, wife of convicted former state minister for home Lutfozzaman Babar, is confident of winning if she is nominated to contest the polls under BNP’s electoral symbol ‘paddy sheaf.’
“My husband and Khaleda Zia have been wrongfully imprisoned in politically motivated cases,” she told the media on Wednesday (Nov 21) after the nomination interview.
Winning the upcoming polls will mean the freedom of my husband and the party chief and preservation of democracy, she added.
“I am confident of winning if the party nominates me,” Sraboni said.
Lutfozzaman Babar, a state minister during the BNP regime, has been given death penalty in the Aug 21 grenade attack case. Before that he was given another death penalty for his involvement in arms smuggling and currently serving time.
