It’s believed that at the behest of BNP, Jaitiya Oikya Front will take several steps to stop the usage of Electronic Voting Machines, EVMs. Oikya Front will raise strong logic against the usage of EVMs in the next few days.

BNP media wing member, Shairul Kabir Khan, told Bangla Tribune: “everyone in the country is against EVM and with people support, Oikya Front will take a firm step.”

Oikya Front sources say, if necessary, front leaders may also opt for legal steps to stop the EVM.

Former president Badruddoza Chowdhury led Jukto Front does not want EVM either.

When leading leaders of the Oikya Front met EC commissioner and other officials, they gave a letter, emphatically asking to stop the usage of EVMs.

The letter read: “EVMs were cancelled in developed countries since they can be manipulated.”

Oikya Front leader, Abdul Malek Ratan, says: “there is something gravely wrong in the EVMs and the people are not ready to use them.”

According to Wikipedia: EVMs are used in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Estonia, EU, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Romania, UK and The Philippines among other countries.
