The Awami League-led 14-party Coalition and the Jatiya Party will take part in the upcoming general election as allies, says ruling party General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
“The government will be formed as an alliance. The matter has been discussed during the dialogue,” he told the media on Monday after emerging from the pre-polls talks with HM Ershad-led Jatiya Party at the Ganabhaban.
“The 14-party and Jatiya Party agrees on an election in line with with Constitution,” he said before adding that issue parliament seats were not discussed.
Jatiya Party Co-Chairman GM Quader told the media after the talks that they had no specific demands except for an election according to the Constitution.
