Krishak Sramik Janata League President Abdul Kader Siddique says his decision on whether to join Dr Kamal Hossain’s alliance with the BNP will come on Nov 5.
Addressing a discussion organised by his party on Saturday to mark the Jail Killings Day attended by Gano Forum chief Dr Kamal, he said the new alliance Jatiya Oikya Front is a success.
“Sir, I am taking one more day. I will let the leaders of your alliance my decision on Nov 5,” he said addressing Dr Kamal Hossain.
Earlier on Oct 31, a day after BNP Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir met him, Kader Siddique told the media that he will announce his decision on Saturday (Nov 3).
“But you are a success as the prime minister has opened talks with you. No one can stop the Jatiya Oikya Front whether I join or not,” he said.
Dr Kamal, who addressed the discussion as the chief guest, said there have been several attempts to destroy democracy in Bangladesh, but none of them succeeded.
“Even the autocrats tried... But no one has been able to defeat Bangalees,” he said.
