Senior Awami League Leader Mohammad Nasim has called on the BNP to take part in polls.
His remarks came during a meeting of the 14-party Alliance held at the Awami League chief’s Dhanmondi offices on Saturday.
“We want the election to be held in a peaceful atmosphere. Get prepared for the polls, don’t try to create trouble,” said Nasim, who sits on the party’s policymaking Presidium. “Any such attempt will be pointless.”
Almost all the parties except the BNP are preparing for the polls, according to him.
“I don’t understand why they are creating confusion when it’s almost certain that the polls will be held in line with the Constitution,” said Nasim, who serves as the health minister.
