It’s the BNP who are ‘politically bankrupt’ not the Awami Leauge (AL), senior ruling party leader Obaidul Quader said in response to a similar comment by the BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
“They talk about democracy but produce forged United Nations invitations.” said while addressing a rally at the capital’s Chakbazar on Saturday (Oct 6).
“They even changed the party charter ahead of chief’s conviction in a graft case making way for someone corrupted and convicted to be in the leadership,” said the AL general secretary. “This clearly shows that they are politically bankrupt.”
Quader, the road transport minister, blamed the BNP of destroying the cordial atmosphere among politicians.
“In the past, Sheikh Hasina would stand by Khaleda Zia if she was in trouble. Hasina as well as senior Awami League leaders had gone to visit Khaleda once, when she was hospitalised. But the whole nation knows how Hasina was treated when she went to condole Khaleda after her son’s death,” he said.
