Jailed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s family wasn’t allowed to send homemade food for her. Khaleda’s sister Selima Islam alleged that food wasn’t allowed inside the cell despite taking prior permission.
Selima told journalists after visiting Khaleda with five other family members in the Old Central Jail of Nazimuddin road at 5pm Wednesday.
She said, “We brought with us home-made foods, but we weren’t allowed to take those in.”
She also said, Khaleda was expecting to see other members of the family and wanted to know their whereabouts.
“We told her that, only six were allowed to meet while we sought permission for 20.”
Khaleda Zia’s Personal Assistant Abdus Sattar told Bangla Tribune that the relatives met her for about one and a half hours after going in at 3:40pm.
Selima told Bangla Tribune, “Khaleda Zia is in poor health. She didn’t take any food until Eid day afternoon.”
She conveyed Khaleda’s Eid greeting to the countrymen and her party leaders and activists.
