Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested three activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, from the capital’s Dhanmondi area on charges of spreading rumour to instigate the recent nationwide student protest.
The three Shibir men arrested on Wednesday are Md Akhteruzzaman Tony, 22, Md Asadullah Al Ghalib, 22, and Md Mainun Sarker, 23.
“We arrested them from Dhanmondi area as they spread rumour using social networking sites to instigate the recent student protest over deaths of two students in road accident,” assistant police super of RAB media Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan told BSS.
RAB personnel also seized one laptop, three mobile SIMs, two note diaries and joining letter to join Shibir from their possessions,” he also said.
Legal action was taken to this end.
