Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has conducted a special raid in Bashundhara residential area which continued from 8pm on Wednesday to 1:45am on Thursday, said the OC of Vatara Police Station SM Kamruzzaman.
“We raided the area based on intelligence information. No one was arrested during the drive”, he said.
Assistant Police Commissioner of DMP’s Badda zone Ashraful Karim told Bangla Tribune that police conducted the drive as part of a routine operation in and out of the area.
The law enforcers launched the operation after being hit by the goons during the students’ protest for safe roads and ongoing anti-drug crackdown, police sources said.
On Aug 6, students of two private universities in the area engaged in intermittent clashes during the demonstration for safe roads.
