The High Court has ordered to transfer Drik Gallery founder and photographer Shahidul Alam to hospital from police custody.
The HC also asked to form medical board on Alma’s treatment setting Thursday (Aus 9) the date for next hearing in the case.
The HC bench of Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir passed the order after hearing a petition on Tuesday (Aug 7).
His wife Rahnuma Ahmad filed the petition a day after the Detective Branch was granted seven days custody on Monday.
Sixty-three-year-old Alam was picked up by plainclothes men from his Dhanmondi home late on Sunday.
He has been charged with spreading propaganda and false information against the government in a case filed under the ICT Act’s Section 57.
Dr Kamal Hossain and Sarah Hossain moved the petition.
