A petition has been filed with the High Court to hospitalise Drik Gallery founder and photographer Shahidul Alam who is now on remand in an ICT case.
His wife Rahnuma Ahmad filed the petition with the court on Tuesday, after the Detective Branch was granted seven days custody the previous day.
The HC bench of Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir may hold hearing on the petition later in the day.
Shahidul, 63, was picked up by plainclothes men from his Dhanmondi home late on Sunday.
He has been charged with spreading propaganda and false information against the government.
Dr Kamal Hossain and Sarah Hossain will move the petition.
