Renowned photographer and social activist Shahidul Alam was brought to 'interrogate', said Deputy Commissioner of DMP's media wing Masuder Rahman on Monday.
Explaining the reason for taking him, another senior police officer said that Shahidul Alam was active on the social media during the student protest demanding safe roads.
But, decision is yet to be made whether he will be arrested or not.
He has been taken away from his home by unidentified men on Sunday.
Alam, the founder of photography agency Drik and Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, was picked up from his Dhanmondi home around 10:30pm on Sunday.
“People identifying themselves as law enforces took him away from his home on Dhanmondi Road 9/A,” said Tanvir Murad Tapu told Bangla Tribune.
“Around 10:30pm, we heard a scramming and rushed to the ground floor. We found that the gatekeepers frightened, and CCTV and intercom broken.”
The award-winning photographer was picked up a day after he was assaulted while capturing photos of the ongoing students’ protests and his camera was vandalised in Dhanmondi area.
