Student agitation continues for fifth day

The students have taken to the street for the fifth day on Thursday demanding implementation of their 9-point demand and punishment of killer driver who ran over two students on Airport Road on Sunday
They blocked roads in Uttara, Asadgate, Science Lab, Farmgate and Mouchak areas in the city.

They staged a sit-in from Abdullahpur to Airport road while blocked road in Farmgate and Asadgate area creating gridlock in the city.
Azompur road in Uttara was blocked by the students.Students of Pioneer College and Alhaj Mokbul Hossain Degree College blocked Mohammadpur bus stand area and checking vehicle documents there.
Only public sector bus operator BRTC is operating from that area today.
Students from different institutions gathered on the Shahbag intersection.The traffic movement has come to a halt in Shahbagh area as the students blocked the area.
People are seen walking as students take the Science Lab intersection.The student agitation erupted Sunday when a Jabal-e- Noor bus was engaged in a race with another bus and ran over several students who were waiting at a bus stand on Airport Road. Two students of Shahid Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College died on the spot while injured others were taken to Kurmitola General Hospital.

Students are carrying posters and chanting slogans.

To calm down the situation, the government has suspended class in all educational institutions for Thursday.
