Editor Moazzem Hossain passes away

The Financial Express Editor AHM Moazzem Hossain has died at a Dhaka hospital.
He passed away on Wednesday evening while being treated at the Square Hospital.
The 73-year-old had been suffering from various health complications over the last few weeks.
A Dhaka University Economics graduate, Hossain started his career in journalism as a reporter for the now-defunct Bangladesh Observer.
In his five-decade-long career, he worked with The New Nation, United News of Bangladesh (UNB), The Dhaka Courier and The Daily Star.
Prior to being a newsman, Hossain worked with the Habib Bank Limited, Karachi, Pakistan as an officer in Training and Research Department and with the Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan, as a research official.
He was a member of the management board of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) from 1995 to 2001, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) — the national news agency — from 1997 to 2000.
The founding president of Economic Reporters Forum, Hossain left behind his wife, a son, a daughter.
His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at his Moghbazar residence at 10am and a second namaz-e-janaza will be held at the National Press Club premises at 12pm on Thursday before the burial at the Azimpur Graveyard.
