Many schools and colleges in Dhanmondi, Motijheel, Uttara and other parts of the city have decided to suspend classes Wednesday.
They informed the parents through SMS or communicated them verbally and post closure notice on the gates.
The decision was taken as the students are taking part in demonstration wearing uniform.
Many guardians also advised the authorities to suspend classes at the education institutions.
Principal of Milestone College Shahidul Islam told Bangla Tribune, “Our students come from distant places. We suspended our class today keeping their safety in mind.”
Uttara High School and College Principal Faridur Rahman told Bangla Tribune, “We suspended the class as we don’t want our students face any problem.”
But, there was no government decision to suspend the classes.
Dhaka Board Chairman Professor M Ziaul Haq said, “We did not give any instruction to suspend classes.”
Meanwhile, students have blocked different roads creating serious gridlock in the city.
Their protests have entered the fourth day on Wednesday as they demand for safe road and punishment of the bus driver who killed two college students on Airport road on Sunday.
