SSC, equivalent exams begin Monday

Students appear in the SSC examination at Dhaka’s Motijheel Government Boys` High School centre on Saturday (Feb 2). FOCUS BANGLAThe reschedule Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations under 11 education boards will begin across the country on Monday (Feb 3).
More than two million students are expected to take part in the SSC and equivalent examinations this year. Among the candidates, 1,024,363 are boys and 1,023,416 girls.
Education Minister Dipu Moni will visit the capital's Tejgaon Government Girls’ School exam centre around 9:30am.
This year, a total of 1,635,240 students will take part in the SSC examinations under nine general education boards while 2,81,254 will participate in Dakhil exam under Madrasa Education Board and 1,31,285 for vocational exam under Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
Candidates have been advised to enter the exam centers half an hour before the scheduled time of the tests.
On Jan 18, the government deferred the school-leaving exams from Feb 1 to Feb 3 as the Election Commission rescheduled the Dhaka city polls to Feb 1 from Jan 30 since the previously announced voting day coincided with the Hindu festival of Saraswati Puja.
