Former secretary to the prime minister’s office (PMO) Sajjadul Hassan has been made the new chairman of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
According to a civil aviation and tourism ministry gazette issued on Tuesday (Jan 27), the appointment was made as per the national flaf carrier’s Article of Association Section 38.
Hassan will be taking over from retired air force officer Mohammad Enamul Bari who has headed the airline's board for three consecutive terms.
Along with Sajjadul Hassan’s appointment, the board was also re-organised with the PMO secretary, National Board of Revenue chairman, civil aviation and tourism secretary, finance secretary, maritime secretary of the foreign ministry and others as members.
