ACC seeks asset details of businessman AK Azad

Managing Director of Ha-meem Group AK Azad.Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sought wealth statements from business tycoon AK Azad.
In a notice sent on Monday (Jan 27), the graft watchdog told the former Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) chairman to file his asset details within 21 working days, ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told Bangla Tribune.
ACC also sought the wealth statements of his wife and his dependents.
On May 22, 2018, the ACC quizzed Azad, who is the Managing Director of Ha-meem Group, on allegation of amassing wealth illegally.
Azad is also the owner of two media outlets - Dainik Samakal and the Channel 24 television station - and one of the directors of Shahjalal Islami Bank.
