The ready-made garment workers have withdrawn their protest in Shyamali after being assured by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) officials about their demands being fulfilled.

“Police is working to restore the traffic to normal,” Dhaka Metropolitan Police Mohammadpur Zone Assistant Commissioner KM Shahidul Islam Shohag told Bangla Tribune.

Earlier on Thursday morning, ready-made garments workers blocked the Mirpur Road in Dhaka’s Shyamaoli demanding due wages for three hours.

The protest has caused immense traffic congestion on the roads causing commuters to suffer.
