ACC quizzes Sunamganj AL leader over graft allegation

Anti-Corruption Commission has quizzed the general secretary of ruling Awami League’s Sunamganj district unit, Enamul Kabir Emon, on allegations of corruption, irregularities, and abuse of power.
ACC deputy director Nurul Huda conducted the three-hour interrogation at the graft its Segunbagicha office in Dhaka on Wednesday (Jan 15).
Emon, a former independent director of state-owned Power Grid Company of Bangladesh and former administrator of Sunamganj district council, was summed by the graft watchdog on Jan 6.
He, however, ruled out the allegation brought against him claiming it was an attempt to ‘tarnish his image’
“Rivals from BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and Jatiya Party have made the false allegations to the ACC,” said Emon, Emon, who is a son of a former lawmaker.
