The incident was reported on Monday (Dec 30) when activists of the alliance took out a rally from the National Press Club towards the prime minister’s office in order to mark one year of the national polls where they claim blatant vote rigging took place.
At least 20 people including law enforcers and Ganashanghati Andolan chief coordinator Zonated Saki were injured during a clash between Leftist Democratic Alliance and police.Five people have been arrested and taken to Ramna police station.
Among those injured are eight policemen and Bangladesh Communist Party General Secretary Saiful Haque.

However, the clash ensued when they reached Matsya Bhaban and got into an argument with the police.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost in-charge Bacchu Mia said that in addition to the policemen around 15 activists were being treated at the Emergency.
