Traffic on Airport road came to a halt on Monday as students of different schools and colleges blocked the road protesting the death of two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College in a road accident on Sunday.
The adjacent roads to Uttara, Banani and Kalshi remained stuck with long gridlock since the morning.
Earlier, law enforcers foiled an attempt of holding a human chain over the matter on Airport road.
Agitating students are chanting slogans demanding punishment of the criminals responsible for the accident.
Meanwhile, student claimed of arresting five of them from the scene, however, police denied the allegation.
On Sunday, Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib were killed as a bus rammed through some students in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road in the capital.
Following the accident, the agitated college students have taken to the street and torched a Jebel e Noor bus and vandalized several others.
