Two separate lawsuits have been filed against 135 BNP leaders and activists including Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, over the torching of three motorbikes in front of three gates of the Supreme Court.

 The cases have been filed with Shahbag police on Wednesday (Dec 11), Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ramna Zone Deputy Commissioner Sazzadur Rahman confirmed.

Three firefighting units doused the fires in front of the gates. Police suspected the incident to be arson given that no one claimed ownership of the bikes.

DMP Ramna Zone Senior Assistant Commissioner AM Shamim said that the matter was being looked into.
