The letter to PM Hasina signed by Eric Ershad on Saturday (Nov 23)

Shahata Zarab Ershad Eric, the son of late Jatiya Party founder HM Ershad, has written to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina accusing his uncle GM Quader of torturing him.
The letter was forwarded to the prime minister's office on Saturday (Nov 23) along with copies to the home minister, the inspector general of police, the chairman of National Human Rights Commission and president of National Press Club, Eric's mother Bidisha.
It comes after Eric made similar accusations at a media call on Friday (Nov 22) at his Baridhara residence.
In the letter, Eric claimed that Quader, now the chief of Jatiya Party, and his associates were torturing him physically and mentally since his father’s demise.
“Sometimes they had starved me, conspired and slandered to keep my mother away from me.
“Even drivers, house helps had harassed me physically,” the letter reads.

Earlier on Nov 18, Eric Ershad filed a general diary (GD) with the Gulshan police seeking permission to let his mother Bidisha stay with him.
In the report, Eric said Quader and his associates tortured him physically and mentally soon after his father’s death. Therefore, he brought his mother Bidisha, to his President's Park residence on Nov 14.
