A preventive team of Dhaka Customs House has recovered 4.64 kg gold in bars from Biman Bangladesh’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner “Gangchil” at Dhaka airport.

The aircraft that landed from Dubai was seized at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday (Nov 23) morning.

Sazzad Hossain, assistant commissioner of Dhaka customs house, said that being tipped off, the preventive team officials conducted the drive and recovered 40 gold bars from the Dreamliner.

The gold bars were hidden under a seat of the plane that arrived at the airport around 6:10 am from Dubai, the customs official added.

Customs officials have seized the aeroplane and following protocol in this regard.
