A cache of anti-tank rockets have been recovered from the Satchhari National Forest in Habiganj.
As many as 13 rocket launcher charges were found buried under the ground on Saturday (Nov 23) during a joint raid by the Bangladesh Army and elite police unit Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), said Lt Col Md Mahbubul Alam, the chief of Chattogram-based RAB-7 unit.
"We had received intel on the weapons cache on Nov 21. With the help of the army's 24th Infantry Division, we identified the exact location on Saturday. The rocket launcher [chargers] were brought in a few months ago," he said before adding no arrests have been made.
RAB had previously recovered mortar shells, rocket launchers, machine guns and numerous explosives from the park, which borders the Indian state of Tripura.
In February 2018, RAB recovered ten anti-tank rockets from the forest. The elite police unit said that the Chinese-made rockets recovered from a bunker can strike and destroy tanks and cars from 1,500-metre distance.

A bunker was also discovered in the hills in the area. RAB had said the weapons may have belonged to an Indian separatist group.
In 2014, RAB conducted five raids in the area. The bunker, which contained 14 crates of explosives, was found beneath a stable for goats during one of the raids.
RAB raided the area again in 2016, but found nothing.
