Haqqani Publishers has protested a Bangla Tribune report ‘Govt medical book purchase marred by irregularities’ published on Aug 30.
In a statement sent on Saturday (Sept 7), the publishing house said that the information in the report regarding Haqqani Publishers receiving a work order from the directorate general of health services was incorrect.
“The report said that 7,950 books in 497 categories purchased under two health directorate tenders for Sheikh Sayera Khatun Medical College in Gopalganj is completely false and fabricated,” it read.
It added that even though it was an e-tender, Haqqani Publishers “didn’t receive any work order for the books. Neither did we supply it.”
The same way the report claimed that 2,458 books in 317 categories worth over Tk 25 million was purchased for Mugda Medical College and Hospital in the capital but the publishing house neither received the work orders for the books, neither did they supply it, the statement claimed.
