Tenants’ info helped to bust terror hideouts: DMP

"Theft, robbery and extortion have also decreased for this reason," Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said on Monday (Sept 9).
His remarks came while launching a mobile app ‘Citizen Information Management System (CIMS)’ at the DMP media centre.
"Crimes decreased when we started to collect public information," he said. "We have collected the information of over 7.2 million citizens in CIMS. Individuals can no longer rent out or rent a house without a lease information form."
"Police will be directly use the CIMS app to avail information about tenants," he said.
DMP launches mobile app for citizen info
The app can be downloaded on handsets and input information, Asaduzzaman said.
The CIMS app can be downloaded from the Google Playstore on Android phones and will soon be available on the Apple Store as well.
A citizen can then log in using the verification code sent to their mobile number, he said.
The citizen can see the data to be put on the app when an officer approves it for view. If the information provided by the citizen is incomplete, it will be notified immediately to his or her email ID, he added.
