Over 850 dengue patients hospitalised in 24hrs

As many as 865 new dengue patients have been hospitalised across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of them, 396 are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Dhaka and another 469 are outside the capital, said a statement of DGHS's Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room on Monday (Sept 2).
A total of 3,931 dengue patients are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals across the country.
Among them, 2,177 patients are taking treatment in Dhaka division and 1,754 are hospitalised outside the capital.
As of Sept 2, a total of 71,962 patients got admitted to the different hospitals across the country since Jan 1. Of them, 67,843 patients have been released the respective hospitals after treatment, the DGHS said.
According to DGHS, 57 people have so far died of dengue. However, unofficial counts show the tally is reported to be over 188.
