Three killed in Dhaka, Gazipur road crashes

Representational imageAt least three people have been killed in road accidents in Dhaka and Gazipur.
In Dhaka, a young man was killed after a vehicle hit his bicycle in the city’s Wari area.
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Tatalu Chandra of Jatrabari’s Dhalpur area.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Asaduzzaman of Wari police said that the vehicle crashed into Tatalu’s bicycle in front of Salauddin Specialized Hospital around 11:30pm on Monday (Aug 26).
Locals rescued the critically injured Tatalu and rushed him to the nearby hospital for treatment.
As his condition deteriorated, Tatalu was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctors declared him dead around 1:30am on Tuesday (Aug 27), said the police official.
SI Asaduzzaman added the body has been kept at the hospital.
In Gazipur, two workers have been killed as a concrete mixer truck crashed into a three-wheeler near Chandra area, adjacent to Dhaka-Tangail highway, in Kaliakoir upazila early on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Nazrul and 35-year-old Jarzid Hossain, workers of a local factory named Walton.
Salna highway police Sub-Inspector (SI) Mozammel Hossain said the accident took place in front of Nandan Park around 7:30am, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
He said added that police went to the spot and recovered the bodies.
